October 2019

Notable Weather Events

• Month started with a heat wave which began at the end of September.
• October 4, the heat wave breaks.
• October 26, the first substantial rain beginning to end a moderate drought.
• October 31, rapid temperature drop accompanied by a wind storm and snow flurries.

September 2019

• September 13:  Stretch of unusual heat and humidity.
• September 27:  Stretch of near record high temperatures.
• Whole Month:  Drought conditions.

August 2019

Notable Weather Events

• August 18:  Heat wave starts lasting approximately 4 days.
• Entire month:  Drought conditions continue with only slight alleviation from August 26 rain.

July 2019

• July 15:  Remnants of Hurricane Barry came through with minimal immediate impact.
• July 18:  Heat wave starts lasting about 4 days.
• July 23:  Very nice stretch of weather lasting about 5 days.
• Month of July:  Less than 1.7" of rain the entire month.

June 2019

• Early June had several periods colder than normal.
• June 15:  Very heavy rain starts which lasts nearly a week and total approximately six inches.
• June ended with very hot temperatures.

March 2019

February 2019

Notable Weather Events:

• Month started with snow.
• A brief warm up February 3.
• Heavy rain on February 7.
• Weather computer moved to the backup as the old one was getting unreliable on Feb. 8
• Extremely high and damaging winds on February 23.

January 2019

Notable Weather Events:

• Rain with very high wind on January 8.
• Heavy snow starting January 12, with approximately 11 inches total with drifting.
• A second significant snow January 19.
• An extreme cold spell starting January 29, with temperatures as low as -12F.

December 2018

December in SouthWest Ohio began with the tail end of a rain storm that started in November.  The month continued grey, with quite a bit of rain and wind.  There was one snow event near the middle of the month, although the amount of snow was minimal.  December could probably be considered typical, and overall average temperatures were a bit above November.
It is fitting that the December, and the year, ended with a very heavy rain event that lasted all day as 2018 will easily rank in the top five wettest years for SouthWest Ohio.

Lowest Temperature:  7.4F (there was one spurious observed temperature)
Highest Temperature:  99.4F (probably higher than actual due to sun)
